Which one fits how San Diego homes actually use batteries?

The differences show at the edges: Powerwall's 11.5 kW output starts a central AC compressor without drama, which matters for whole-home backup in inland heat (Poway, Santee, Ramona); Enphase's per-unit modularity lets a Carlsbad townhome start with 10 kWh of essential-loads coverage and add a third unit later without redesign. Does my existing solar equipment decide this for me?

Often, yes. An existing Enphase microinverter array makes the IQ Battery the path of least resistance — one app, one warranty stack, native AC-coupling. A new solar-plus-storage project gives Powerwall 3's integrated DC-coupled inverter the efficiency edge and removes a separate inverter from the bill. Can either run my EV charger during an outage?
